Looking Back: The Big Read 2024

On Saturday 6th April 2024 we welcomed lots of eager bookworms to the Warwick Arts Centre for a celebration of reading, stories and languages! Perceptive readers will note that this was a few months ago – it’s been go, go, go in the Resonate team since then, but we wanted to sit down and reflect on what a great event we had!

We had workshops from the Department of Languages, including multi-lingual Harry Potter, re-writing fairy tales and learning Chinese in just 30 minutes.

Kenilworth Books brought a pop-up bookshop, crafts and some local authors, including Julia Rawlinson, The Brothers McLeod and Emilie Lauren Jones.

Students from the University of Warwick dressed up as some of our favourite literary characters, and others lead read-alongs.

Further fun was had with Coventry Libraries, Warwick Research with Kids and interactive, bookish activities.
