Science on the Hill - Host Defence on the Offensive!

  • Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Building, University of Warwick Coventry, England, CV4 7AJ United Kingdom (map)

An insight into the fascinating world of immune systems…

Survival in the natural world depends on the ability to fend off external threats, and over millions of years, organisms have developed an incredible array of defence mechanisms to achieve this. At the next Science on the Hill event, we’ll delve into how different biological systems combat attacks from other organisms - highlighting the human and plant immune systems. We’ll also explore how these natural defences can inspire new therapeutics for treating patients.

Hear fascinating talks including:

Vaccination as long-lasting host defence - Martin Davey

Defence in plants and its role in sustainability - Emily Breeze
