Science on the Hill is back for 2023!
After some time away, researchers from the School of Life Sciences and Warwick Medical School will be returning with new topics, new findings, and new stories to share!
The theme of February’s event is Metals in Biology. You might not see them as “organic” or even “natural”, but metals are essential to life, important for health, and helpful for treating diseases. Join us for a Science on the Hill evening that shines a light on the important roles metals play in the human body and their essential functions in the environment around us. How might the mis-localisation of metals lead to neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease? Amazingly, how might we soon use the treasure chest of Platinum and related metals to diagnose cancer and perhaps even treat it?
Hear from Professor Peter Sadler, Professor Joanna Collingwood and Dr Robert Dalman about the surprising world of metals!
Doors will open from 6:00pm.
