From family histories to geopolitics, the legacies of the 1947 partition of British India affect the present. Across South Asia, globally, and in Coventry, these legacies shape as well as haunt memories, histories, borders, and nationalisms.
On this 75th anniversary year of the fraught events of 1947, join us for an afternoon of talks, poetry readings, and a film screening. Scholars from the University of Warwick will offer reflections on the multiple legacies of partition in the context of their research. There will be space for audience members to comment and interact with scholars about these events and their reflections.
