Pint of Science - Day Two

Join us for Day Two of #Pint23!

Pint of Science is back for another exciting festival! This is an opportunity to hear from scientists about their research from the comfort of a pub, café or community space! Researchers from the University of Warwick and Coventry are leaving their lab coats behind for an evening of presentations, activities, and conversations with the community.

On Tuesday 23rd May, we will be hosting the following events:

Our Society - Equal Opportunity (The Twisted Barrel, Coventry)

This event will share findings on recent studies which question whether employers prioritise university prestige over an applicant's skillset, and how regulations need to change to increase housing affordability.

Planet Earth - What’s in the Water? (1 Mill Street, Leamington)

Rivers and waterways in the UK have been a recent topic of discussion. Hear from researchers about the impact of sewage on bacteria in the water, how this can influence antimicrobial resistance and the hopeful future of this type of treatment. This is also a chance to learn about the surprising life and communication skills of cyanobacteria.

Tickets for Pint of Science cost £5 and can be booked below via the Pint of Science website.
