Food for Thought
A guest lecture from the Warwick Alumni Team
Join the School of Life Sciences and renowned Tunisian biologist Professor Sophien Kamoun on World Food Day to explore a global challenge in agriculture. ‘Keeping up with the plant killers’ will focus on plant pathogens (disease causing organisms) and how they threaten the crops we all depend on to survive.
At the event, you’ll have a chance to learn more about the University of Warwick’s world-leading horticultural research at our new Innovation Campus development near Stratford-upon-Avon. And you can find out how Warwick researchers are working to solve global challenges around food security and crop sustainability.
Professor Miriam Gifford, Head of the School of Life Sciences, will also share the vision behind Warwick’s ‘STEM Grand Challenge’, a significant investment to enhance Science and Engineering education, research, and facilities.
The Lecture will be hosted at the state-of-the-art Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research Building on the Gibbet Hill Campus. Refreshments will be served and a drinks reception will follow the event.
